A Maple Bourbon Old Fashioned is a rich, smooth twist on the classic, swapping sugar for pure maple syrup. Balanced, slightly sweet, and easy to mix, it’s perfect for relaxing or impressing guests year-round.
Add maple syrup and bitters to the bottom of your glass.
Pour in the bourbon.
Stir well until mixed.
Add a large ice cube or two.
Stir again to chill the drink.
Use the peeler or knife to remove a strip of orange peel.
Gently twist the peel over the drink to release oils, then drop it in.
Add a maraschino cherry if you like.
Notes
Pure maple syrup is best—avoid anything with additives. For a less sweet drink, reduce the syrup. Big ice cubes keep the cocktail cold without dilution. Garnish with a cherry or orange slice for extra flavor. Easy to double for guests.
