  • Microplane or grater

Ingredients

  • 2 oz bourbon
  • 1 oz maple syrup
  • 1 large egg or 1 1/2 oz pasteurized egg white
  • 0.5 oz heavy cream optional, for extra richness
  • freshly grated nutmeg for garnish
  • ice cubes

Instructions

  • Add bourbon, maple syrup, egg, and heavy cream (if using) to a shaker with no ice. Shake hard (dry shake) for 20 seconds.
  • Add ice and shake again for 20 seconds to chill (wet shake).
  • Strain into a coupe or cocktail glass.
  • Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg.

Notes

Use a fresh egg or pasteurized egg white for best texture. Omit cream for a lighter flip. Maple pairs beautifully with bourbon—use real syrup! Shake well for the silkiest finish.
