Brew the espresso and let it cool for 1–2 minutes.
Add bourbon, espresso, coffee liqueur, and maple syrup to a cocktail shaker.
Fill the shaker with ice and shake hard for about 15 seconds until frosty.
Fine-strain into a chilled martini glass.
Garnish with a few coffee beans, if using.

Swap bourbon with rye for a spicier profile, or split the base with vodka for a lighter take. Shake vigorously to build a thick foam. Adjust maple syrup to taste depending on roast level and bitterness of your espresso.
