Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker or mixing glass
  • Bar spoon
  • Jigger
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Rocks glass
  • Small knife
  • Peeler
  • Ice cubes or big ice sphere

Ingredients

  • 2 oz bourbon whiskey Knob Creek or maple bourbon
  • 1 oz fresh apple cider
  • 0.5 oz pure maple syrup
  • 2 dashes orange bitters
  • 1 dash aromatic bitters
  • 0.25 oz apple brandy optional
  • ice cubes or big ice sphere
  • orange peel for garnish
  • orange slice for garnish
  • cinnamon stick for garnish

Instructions

  • Fill a cocktail shaker or mixing glass with ice.
  • Add bourbon, apple cider, maple syrup, and bitters.
  • Stir gently for about 20–30 seconds to chill and mix.
  • Strain into a rocks glass over a big ice cube.
  • Express the oils from an orange peel over the drink and drop it in.
  • Garnish with a cinnamon stick and an orange slice.

Notes

Swap in half apple brandy for a fruitier twist or use maple bourbon for extra sweetness without additional syrup. Reduce bourbon to 1.5 oz and increase cider for a lighter version. Cinnamon stick slowly infuses spice as you sip.
