Equipment

  • Muddler
  • Cocktail shaker
  • Strainer
  • Tall glass
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Ice

Ingredients

For one serving:

  • 1/2 ripe mango cubed
  • 6-8 fresh mint leaves
  • 1 oz 30 ml fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz 30 ml simple syrup
  • 4 oz 120 ml sparkling water
  • Ice cubes
  • Mango slice and mint sprig for garnish

Use a ripe, soft mango for the best flavor. If mangoes aren't in season, frozen mango chunks work too. Just thaw them first.

Instructions

  • Add mango cubes and mint leaves to the shaker. Muddle gently to release flavors.
  • Pour in lime juice and simple syrup. Fill the shaker with ice.
  • Shake hard for 10-15 seconds to chill and mix ingredients.
  • Fill a tall glass with ice. Strain the mixture into the glass.
  • Top with sparkling water and stir gently.
  • Garnish with a mango slice and mint sprig. Serve right away.

For a stronger mango taste, muddle more fruit. Adjust lime juice and syrup to your liking.

    Notes

This recipe is easy to scale up for parties. Make a big batch by multiplying ingredients, but add sparkling water just before serving to keep it fizzy.
Try different fruits like strawberries or peaches for variety. You can also swap mint for basil or thyme.
For a sweeter drink, use more syrup or add a splash of mango nectar. To cut calories, skip the syrup and use a sugar-free sweetener instead.
Store leftover mango pulp in the fridge and use within 2 days. It's great in smoothies or as a yogurt topping.
