I use mango margarita mix to prep a drink that's fruity, refreshing, and honestly, super easy to make at home. I pay attention to the equipment, try to use fresh and quality ingredients, and keep the steps simple for a smooth process and a tasty result.
The main thing is a cocktail shaker with a tight lid—really helps blend the flavors and chill everything down.
I use a jigger or just a measuring cup to get the liquids right.
A citrus juicer is handy if I’m going with fresh lime juice.
I also keep a strainer or fine mesh sieve ready to catch pulp or any stray ice as I pour the drink into the glass.
For serving, I go with margarita or rocks glasses.
Ingredients
For one serving, here’s what I use:
Mango margarita mix 3 oz90 ml
Tequila 2 oz60 ml
Lime juice 1 oz30 ml
Triple sec 1 oz30 ml
Ice 1 cup
If I want a sweeter drink, I might add a splash of simple syrup or agave nectar.
Instructions
First, I rim my glass with lime juice and dip it in salt or sugar. I set it aside while I get the drink ready.
In my shaker, I toss in ice, mango margarita mix, tequila, lime juice, and triple sec.
I close it up tight and shake for about 20 seconds.
That’s usually enough to mix everything and get it nice and cold.
Next, I strain the cocktail into my prepared glass over fresh ice.
I’ll top it with a slice of mango or a lime wedge for garnish.
If I want a frozen mango margarita, I just blend all the ingredients with the ice until smooth and pour it out.
Notes
The type of tequila you use really changes the drink. I usually go for silver or blanco tequila for a stronger mango flavor. Gold or aged tequilas give it a richer, smokier edge. Sometimes I’ll adjust the amount of mango mix or lime juice, depending on my mood.If the drink feels too strong, I add more mix or back off on the tequila. I always use fresh lime juice for the best taste. Leftover cocktail mix keeps in the fridge for about two days if it’s sealed. This recipe doubles easily for a group. For a non-alcoholic version, just skip the tequila and triple sec and use soda water instead.
