Instructions
Rim a rocks or margarita glass with lime juice and dip in Tajín or chili salt. Fill the glass with fresh ice.
Add tequila, orange liqueur, fresh lime juice, mango puree (or nectar), simple/agave syrup, and habanero slices to a cocktail shaker.
Fill the shaker with ice and shake for about 15 seconds until very cold.
Double strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice.
Garnish with a mango slice or lime wheel. For more heat, let the habanero steep in the shaker a few extra seconds before straining.
Notes
Adjust sweetness based on mango ripeness. For a smoky variation, swap a splash of mezcal for part of the tequila. Infusing tequila with habanero in advance delivers consistent heat; start with 10–15 minutes and taste.
