Ingredients

  • 2 oz limoncello
  • 1 oz cachaça or white rum
  • 0.5 lime cut into wedges
  • 1 tsp sugar white or raw
  • 4-5 fresh mint leaves
  • sliced strawberries optional
  • lavender optional
  • ice cubes or crushed ice
  • ginger beer or ginger syrup
  • lime wheel garnish
  • mint sprig garnish
  • cranberry garnish

Instructions

  • Drop lime wedges and sugar into a glass.
  • Muddle gently until the lime gives up its juice and the sugar starts to dissolve.
  • Add the mint leaves and muddle lightly—don’t go overboard or you’ll get bitterness.
  • Pour in limoncello and cachaça.
  • Fill the glass with ice.
  • Stir well or give it a quick shake to mix.
  • Top with a splash of ginger beer for some fizz.
  • Garnish with mint, a lime wheel, or a few cranberries if you’re feeling fancy.

Notes

Stick with fresh lime and keep the limoncello cold. Add strawberries, lavender, or ginger for aroma. Skip sugar for a lighter drink or add more ginger beer for fizz.
