  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 0.75 oz basil simple syrup (or regular simple syrup with basil leaves infused)
  • 2 oz club soda to top (2-3 oz as preferred)
  • ice cubes for shaking and serving
  • fresh basil leaves for garnish
  • lemon wheel for garnish
  • maraschino cherry for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
  • Add vodka, fresh lemon juice, and basil simple syrup.
  • Shake well for about 10–15 seconds.
  • Strain into a Collins glass or highball glass filled with ice.
  • Top with club soda.
  • Stir gently with a bar spoon to keep the soda fizzy.
  • Garnish with a lemon wheel, basil sprig, or maraschino cherry.

Notes

Basil simple syrup brings more depth than plain syrup. For a quick option, use regular syrup and muddle basil leaves. Fresh lemon juice is essential for bright flavor. Adjust club soda and syrup for your taste.
