I keep coming back to this cocktail for its light, floral taste and how quick it is to make. It’s just fresh lemon, elderflower, and sparkling water—nothing complicated, just refreshing.
Cocktail shaker: I use this to mix and chill everything fast.
Measuring jigger: Makes it easy to get the right amounts.
Citrus juicer: Honestly, this saves my hands and gets every drop.
Strainer: Keeps out those pesky seeds and pulp.
Tall glass: Highball glass is my go-to for serving.
Bar spoon: Good for gently stirring in the sparkling water.
Ice cubes: Gotta keep that drink cold.
Knife and small cutting board: For slicing up the lemon, obviously.
Ingredients
2ozfresh lemon juiceabout 1 large lemon
1ozelderflower liqueurlike St-Germain
1ozsimple syrup
3ozsparkling waterchilled
Ice cubesenough to fill the glass
Lemon wheel or wedgefor garnish
Fresh mint sprigfor garnish (optional)
Instructions
Fill your cocktail shaker with ice.
Add lemon juice, elderflower liqueur, and simple syrup to the shaker.
Shake it hard for about 15 seconds, until it’s nice and cold.
Strain everything into a tall glass packed with fresh ice.
Slowly pour the sparkling water over the top—don’t rush it.
Stir gently with a bar spoon to keep those bubbles around.
Garnish with a lemon wheel on the rim.
Notes
I always reach for freshly squeezed lemon juice. Bottled stuff just makes the drink taste off—sometimes flat, sometimes too sharp. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, add a touch more simple syrup. Want more elderflower? Up the liqueur to 1.5 oz. No rules, really.Pour the sparkling water slow to keep the fizz alive. Chilled glass? Absolutely—it keeps things cold and crisp longer.
