Equipment

  • Large pitcher
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Wooden spoon
  • Small saucepan
  • Citrus juicer

Ingredients

  • 6 cups cold water
  • 3/4 cup fresh lemon juice about 4-5 lemons
  • 1/2 cup lavender simple syrup
  • 1/4 cup dried culinary lavender buds
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh lavender sprigs for garnish
  • Lemon wheels for garnish

Instructions

  • Make lavender syrup: Combine sugar, 1/2 cup water, and dried lavender in a small saucepan. Heat until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let steep for 30 minutes.
  • Strain the syrup through a fine mesh strainer to remove lavender buds. Let the syrup cool completely.
  • Mix the drink: Pour lemon juice and cooled lavender syrup into a large pitcher.
  • Add the remaining cold water and stir well to combine.
  • Serve: Fill glasses with ice cubes. Pour lavender lemonade over ice.
  • Garnish each glass with a fresh lavender sprig and lemon wheel.

Notes

Store lavender syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
For a stronger lavender flavor, steep the buds longer in the syrup.
Use only food-grade dried lavender buds, not decorative or potpourri varieties.
To reduce sugar content, adjust the amount of simple syrup to taste.
