Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Jigger
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Bar spoon
  • Citrus juicer
  • Small saucepan
  • Measuring cup
  • Coupe or martini glass

Ingredients

  • 2 oz gin floral or citrus-forward gin preferred
  • 0.75 oz lime juice fresh
  • 0.75 oz lavender syrup homemade or store-bought
  • ice cubes for shaking
  • lavender sprig or lime wheel for garnish

Instructions

  • Chill a coupe or martini glass in the freezer for about 10 minutes.
  • Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Add gin, fresh lime juice, and lavender syrup.
  • Shake firmly for about 15 seconds until the shaker feels frosty.
  • Fine-strain into the chilled glass and garnish with a lavender sprig or lime wheel.

Notes

Lavender syrup: Simmer 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1 tbsp dried culinary lavender for 5 minutes; strain and chill (keeps up to 2 weeks). Taste as you cook—too much lavender can turn soapy. Optional: add a splash of soda water for a lighter take.
