Ingredients

  • 1/2-1 oz crème de cassis blackcurrant liqueur
  • 4-5 oz chilled champagne or sparkling wine such as prosecco or cava
  • lemon twist or fresh blackcurrants for garnish

Instructions

  • Chill a champagne flute in the fridge or freezer for a few minutes.
  • Pour the crème de cassis into the bottom of the flute.
  • Slowly top with chilled champagne or sparkling wine.
  • Do not stir; the bubbles will naturally mix the drink.
  • Garnish with a lemon twist or fresh blackcurrants.

Notes

Use brut champagne for a drier balance, or add more crème de cassis for a sweeter drink. Variations include using raspberry liqueur or a blend of berry liqueurs.
