  • Measuring jigger
  • Serving glass (rocks glass or coffee mug)
  • Spoon (to layer cream, optional)
  • Coffee maker or French press
  • Ice cubes

Ingredients

  • 1 oz Kahlua coffee liqueur
  • 1 oz heavy cream or use coffee creamer for a lighter drink
  • 4 oz freshly brewed hot coffee
  • ice cubes optional, for iced version
  • whipped cream optional topping
  • cocoa powder or chocolate shavings optional garnish

Instructions

  • Brew hot coffee using your preferred method.
  • Add ice cubes to your serving glass if making an iced cocktail.
  • Pour hot coffee into the glass, leaving room for cream and Kahlua.
  • Measure and add 1 oz Kahlua coffee liqueur.
  • Stir together to mix evenly.
  • Slowly pour 1 oz heavy cream over the back of a spoon to float it on top, or stir for a creamy drink.
  • Top with whipped cream and garnish if desired.

Notes

For a colder drink, let the coffee cool and pour over ice before adding Kahlua and cream. Cold brew works for a smoother flavor. Swap heavy cream for half-and-half or flavored coffee creamer for a lighter option. Garnish with cocoa powder or chocolate shavings for presentation.
