Ingredients

  • oz cognac or brandy
  • ½ oz orange liqueur Cointreau or Grand Marnier
  • 2 oz fresh orange juice
  • ½ oz lemonade optional, for more tartness
  • 3 oz ginger ale or ginger beer for a spicier kick
  • Ice cubes enough to fill the glass

Instructions

  • Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice.
  • Add cognac or brandy, orange liqueur, orange juice, and lemonade.
  • Shake well for 10–15 seconds until chilled.
  • Fill a copper mug or glass with fresh ice.
  • Strain the mixture into your mug.
  • Top with ginger ale or ginger beer.
  • Garnish with an orange wheel (use a cocktail pick to stand it up), a cinnamon stick for the stem, and any fun extras like candy eyes or cloves.
  • Serve immediately.
