Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Jigger or measuring tool
  • Strainer
  • Margarita or rocks glass
  • Small plate (for rim)
  • Citrus juicer
  • Bar spoon
  • Ice cubes

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz Irish whiskey Jameson or similar
  • 0.5 oz silver tequila
  • 1 oz lime juice fresh
  • 0.5 oz orange liqueur Cointreau or Triple Sec
  • 0.5 oz honey syrup 1:1 honey and water
  • green food coloring drop, optional
  • gold sugar crystals or sugar for rim
  • 1 wedge lime for garnish
  • mint sprig optional, for garnish
  • ice cubes for shaking and serving

Instructions

  • Rub a lime wedge around the rim of a chilled glass, then dip into gold sugar (or regular sugar).
  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add Irish whiskey, silver tequila, fresh lime juice, orange liqueur, and honey syrup.
  • Shake hard for about 15 seconds until the shaker is very cold.
  • Strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice. Add a drop of green food coloring if desired and gently stir.
  • Garnish with a lime wedge and a small mint sprig. Serve immediately.

Notes

Grand Marnier can replace Cointreau for a richer orange note. If using simple syrup instead of honey syrup, reduce slightly to keep balance. Fresh lime juice is key for brightness.
