1-2tsplemon juicefresh preferred
1cinnamon stick
2-3whole cloves

Instructions
Pour apple cider into a saucepan.
Add cinnamon stick, cloves, and any extra spices.
Warm over medium-low heat until steaming, without boiling.
Remove from heat and stir in honey or brown sugar until dissolved.
Add lemon juice and chosen liquor.
Stir gently.
Strain into a heatproof mug if desired.
Garnish with a lemon slice and serve hot.
Notes
Swap in orange juice for a softer citrus note. Add ginger for warmth or star anise for a licorice hint. Simmer spices longer for a stronger flavor, or add them directly to the mug for a milder taste. Add liquor last to preserve aroma and taste.
