Equipment

  • Large punch bowl or pitcher
  • Long stirring spoon
  • Measuring cups
  • Measuring spoons
  • Small saucepan
  • Ladle
  • Glasses or cups
  • Strainer (optional)

Ingredients

  • 3 cups cranberry juice
  • 2 cups orange juice
  • 2 cups apple cider
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 2 cups ginger ale chilled
  • 1 cup club soda chilled
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 2 star anise
  • orange slices or fresh cranberries for garnish, optional

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, heat apple cider with cinnamon sticks, cloves, and star anise for about 10 minutes on low heat.
  • Take off the heat and let it cool down.
  • Pour cranberry juice, orange juice, and pineapple juice into a big punch bowl.
  • Strain the cooled spiced cider into the bowl and give it a good stir.
  • Add ginger ale and club soda right before serving.
  • Garnish with orange slices or fresh cranberries if desired.

Notes

Simmering the spices in apple cider first deepens the flavor. Make the spiced cider ahead and refrigerate for a richer taste. Add more pineapple juice for sweetness or extra club soda to lighten. Serve cold, or skip the fizzy drinks and serve warm in a slow cooker. Garnishing makes it extra festive.
