Ingredients

  • 2 oz vodka plain or cranberry flavored
  • 2 oz cranberry juice cocktail not unsweetened
  • 0.5 oz lime juice fresh
  • 4 oz ginger beer
  • club soda optional
  • 5-6 fresh or frozen cranberries for garnish
  • 1 small bunch mint leaves for garnish
  • 1 small sprig rosemary optional, for garnish
  • 1-2 lime wedges for garnish
  • crushed or cubed ice enough to fill mug

Instructions

  • Fill a copper mug with ice cubes almost to the top.
  • Add vodka, cranberry juice, and lime juice to a cocktail shaker with a few ice cubes.
  • Shake for about 10 seconds until cold.
  • Strain the mixture into the mug over the ice.
  • Pour in ginger beer, topping with club soda if desired.
  • Stir gently with a bar spoon.
  • Garnish with cranberries, rosemary sprig, mint leaves, and lime wedge.

Notes

Use copper mugs for the best presentation and temperature. Club soda can reduce sweetness. Flavored vodka adds variety. Fresh cranberries look best, but frozen work too. For more aroma, muddle cranberries and mint before building the drink.
