This cozy winter cocktail brings together whiskey, honey, lemon, and hot water or tea for a soothing, spiced drink with a festive twist. Perfect for sipping by the fire on a cold night!

Equipment

  • Heatproof mug or glass
  • Small saucepan or kettle
  • Teaspoon
  • Measuring jigger
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Tea bag or infuser (optional)
  • Strainer (optional)

Ingredients

  • 2 oz whiskey or bourbon or brandy
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 6 oz hot water or brewed tea
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 slice lemon for garnish
  • star anise optional
  • apple cider optional, instead of water
  • whole cloves optional

Instructions

  • Boil water or heat apple cider in a kettle or small saucepan.
  • If using tea, steep tea bag in mug and pour hot liquid over it. Steep 3–5 min and remove bag.
  • Stir in honey until dissolved.
  • Add whiskey, bourbon, or brandy.
  • Squeeze in lemon juice and stir again.
  • Add cinnamon stick and lemon slice for garnish. Optionally add star anise or cloves.

Notes

Bourbon is sweeter, brandy is smoother, and tea or apple cider make great swaps for hot water. Adjust honey and lemon to taste. Serve piping hot for best flavor and comfort!
