Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Jigger
  • Strainer
  • Bar spoon
  • Fine mesh sieve
  • Rocks glass or coupe glass
  • Ice cubes

Ingredients

  • 2 oz bourbon or whiskey smooth bourbon preferred
  • 1 oz lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 0.75 oz honey syrup 1:1 honey and warm water
  • 0.5 oz cream or half-and-half
  • dash vanilla extract
  • ice for shaking
  • 1 lemon twist or mint sprig for garnish

Instructions

  • Add bourbon (or whiskey), lemon juice, honey syrup, cream (or half-and-half), and a dash of vanilla to a shaker.
  • Fill the shaker halfway with ice and shake hard for about 15 seconds until well chilled and frothy.
  • Fine-strain into a chilled rocks glass or coupe. Add fresh ice if serving on the rocks.
  • Garnish with a lemon twist or mint sprig. Serve immediately.

Notes

Make honey syrup by stirring equal parts honey and warm water until smooth. Use a higher-proof bourbon for a bolder kick, or reduce the cream for a lighter texture. Chill the glass before pouring to keep the drink crisp.
