  • Large glass pitcher (at least 2 quarts)
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Citrus juicer (if using fresh juice)
  • Wooden spoon
  • Ladle
  • Measuring cups/spoons
  • Tongs (for dry ice)
  • Clear glasses
  • Gloves & goggles (dry ice safety)

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle 750 ml red wine (e.g. Pinot Noir or Cabernet Sauvignon)
  • ½ cup apple brandy or regular brandy
  • ¼ cup orange liqueur such as Triple Sec
  • ½ cup apple cider or apple juice
  • ½ cup pomegranate juice
  • ¼ cup raspberry or blackberry liqueur
  • 1 orange sliced into rounds
  • 1 large apple cored and thinly sliced
  • ½ cup fresh or frozen raspberries
  • ½ cup fresh or frozen blackberries
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • Optional garnish: more apple/orange slices cinnamon sticks
  • Small chunk of food-safe dry ice for smoky effect
  • Frozen fruit optional, for extra chilling

Instructions

  • In a large pitcher, combine red wine, apple brandy, orange liqueur, apple cider, pomegranate juice, and raspberry or blackberry liqueur.
  • Add the sliced apple, orange, raspberries, blackberries, and cinnamon sticks to the pitcher.
  • Stir everything with a wooden spoon.
  • Chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours so the fruit soaks up the flavor.
  • Before serving, use gloves and tongs to break dry ice into small pieces.
  • Drop one small piece of dry ice into each glass (not the pitcher). Wait for bubbling to stop before drinking.
  • Garnish with extra fruit slices or a cinnamon stick for a spooky touch. Serve cold.
