  • Jigger or measuring spoons
  • Citrus juicer
  • Strainer
  • Margarita or short glass (preferably chilled)
  • Small plate or shallow bowl (for cinnamon sugar rim)
  • Bar spoon
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Ice cube tray

Ingredients

  • 2 oz tequila blanco or reposado
  • 1 oz triple sec or orange liqueur
  • 1 ½ oz unfiltered apple cider
  • 1 oz pomegranate juice
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • ½ oz maple syrup or simple syrup
  • 1 tsp pumpkin spice or ground cinnamon optional
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon sugar for glass rim
  • 1 pinch ground cayenne pepper optional, for spice
  • 1 –2 oz ginger beer or sparkling water for topping
  • 1 lime wedge for rimming the glass
  • Garnish options: cinnamon stick apple slice, blackberry, lime wedge, or blood orange slice

Instructions

  • Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass, then dip it into the cinnamon sugar to coat. Set aside.
  • Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice.
  • Add tequila, triple sec, apple cider, pomegranate juice, lime juice, and maple syrup (or simple syrup).
  • Add the pumpkin spice and cayenne pepper if desired.
  • Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.
  • Strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice.
  • Top with 1 to 2 oz of ginger beer or sparkling water.
  • Garnish with a cinnamon stick, apple slice, blackberry, lime wedge, or blood orange slice.
  • Serve immediately while cold and bubbly.
