Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Jigger or measuring cup
  • Champagne flutes or wine glasses
  • Citrus juicer
  • Ice bucket
  • Bar spoon or long-handled spoon

Ingredients

For four servings, gather these ingredients:

  • 1 cup fresh grapefruit juice about 2 large grapefruits
  • 1/4 cup simple syrup
  • 1 bottle 750 ml chilled rosé wine
  • 1 cup chilled club soda
  • Ice cubes
  • Grapefruit slices for garnish

Fresh grapefruit juice is best for flavor. You can adjust the simple syrup to taste.

Instructions

Follow these steps to create the cocktail:

  • Juice the grapefruits and strain out pulp.
  • In a cocktail shaker, mix grapefruit juice and simple syrup with ice.
  • Shake well for about 15 seconds.
  • Strain the mixture into champagne flutes, filling each glass about 1/3 full.
  • Pour rosé wine into each glass, leaving room for club soda.
  • Top off each drink with a splash of club soda.
  • Stir gently with a bar spoon.
  • Garnish with a grapefruit slice.
  • Serve immediately.

Chill the glasses beforehand for an extra cool drink.

    Notes

This recipe is easy to adjust. For a stronger drink, add more rosé. For less alcohol, use more club soda.
You can make a big batch in a pitcher for parties. Just add the club soda right before serving to keep the fizz.
Try different citrus juices like blood orange or lime for variety.
You can also add a sprig of fresh herbs like mint or basil for extra flavor.
Keep all ingredients cold for the best taste. This drink is best enjoyed fresh, as the bubbles will fade over time.
