For one serving, gather:

  • 1/2 cup grape juice
  • 1/4 cup lemon-lime soda
  • 10 purple grape jellybeans
  • 1/4 cup vanilla ice cream
  • Ice cubes
  • Purple sanding sugar for rim
  • Lemon wedge for rimming glass
  • Grape jellybeans and a small paper umbrella for garnish

Instructions

  • Rim the glass: Rub a lemon wedge around the rim. Dip in purple sanding sugar.
  • Blend jellybeans: Put 10 jellybeans in the blender. Pulse until they form a powder.
  • Make the base: Add grape juice, jellybean powder, and ice cream to the blender. Blend until smooth.
  • Shake it up: Pour the mixture into a shaker with ice. Shake for 10-15 seconds.
  • Assemble the drink: Fill the rimmed glass with ice. Strain the shaken mixture over the ice.
