Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Martini glass
  • Measuring jigger
  • Bar spoon
  • Strainer
  • Small plate
  • Fine grater

Ingredients

  • 2 oz gin
  • 0.5 oz vodka optional
  • 0.75 oz gingerbread syrup store-bought or homemade
  • 0.5 oz heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 0.25 oz dry vermouth
  • 1 tsp honey
  • Ice cubes for shaking
  • Brown sugar or crushed gingerbread cookies for rimming
  • Ground cinnamon for garnish

Instructions

  • Pop the martini glass in the freezer for at least 10 minutes.
  • Rim the edge of the glass with honey, then dip into brown sugar or crushed gingerbread cookies.
  • Add gin, vodka, gingerbread syrup, vermouth, and cream into a cocktail shaker.
  • Fill the shaker about two-thirds full with ice.
  • Shake hard for about 15 seconds, until the outside gets frosty.
  • Strain into your chilled martini glass.
  • Top with a little cinnamon or grate some fresh nutmeg on top.

Notes

Use London Dry gin for a clean flavor, or swap for a softer, floral gin for a lighter drink. Homemade gingerbread syrup keeps for two weeks in the fridge. Garnish with a mini gingerbread cookie or crushed cookies for extra flavor.
