Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Jigger or measuring tool
  • Bar spoon
  • Champagne flute
  • Small knife for lemon
  • Citrus juicer

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz dry gin
  • 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 0.5 oz gingerbread simple syrup (simmer sugar, water, and gingerbread spices)
  • 3 oz champagne chilled
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon twist or candied ginger for garnish

Instructions

  • Add gin, lemon juice, and gingerbread syrup to a cocktail shaker.
  • Fill shaker with ice and shake about 15 seconds.
  • Strain into a chilled champagne flute.
  • Top with cold champagne.
  • Garnish with a lemon twist or candied ginger.

Notes

Dry gin keeps the cocktail crisp and prevents excess sweetness. Adjust syrup for more or less spice. Brut champagne is best for balance. Prep gin, lemon, and syrup in advance for easy entertaining.
