  • Rocks glass

Ingredients

  • 2 oz whiskey bourbon or ginger whiskey
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 0.75 oz simple syrup
  • 0.5 oz ginger liqueur
  • fresh ginger 2–3 slices, optional for muddling
  • ice cubes as needed
  • lemon wheel or ginger slice for garnish

Instructions

  • Fill your shaker with ice.
  • Add whiskey, lemon juice, simple syrup, and ginger liqueur.
  • If using fresh ginger, muddle it in the shaker before adding liquids.
  • Shake hard for 15–20 seconds.
  • Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.
  • Garnish with a lemon wheel or ginger slice. Serve immediately.

Notes

Adjust simple syrup to taste. For a lighter version, splash in soda water. Ginger liqueur can be swapped for ginger syrup for less alcohol but still plenty of spice. Fresh ginger adds extra kick if desired.
