Ingredients

  • 2 oz tequila blanco or reposado
  • 1 oz pear juice fresh preferred
  • 0.5 oz lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 0.25 oz lemon juice optional, for more tartness
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup
  • 3-4 oz ginger beer or ginger ale to top
  • pear or lime slice for garnish
  • ice cubes

Instructions

  • Fill a highball glass with ice cubes.
  • Add tequila, pear juice, lime juice, lemon juice, and simple syrup. (Or shake with ice and strain into glass.)
  • Stir gently with a bar spoon.
  • Top with ginger beer or ginger ale. Pour slowly to keep the fizz.
  • Give one last gentle stir.
  • Garnish with a pear or lime slice.

Notes

Reposado tequila adds warmth; use ginger ale and extra syrup for a sweeter drink. Fresh pear juice is best, but bottled works in a pinch. Adjust lime or syrup to taste. Try both ginger beer and ginger ale to see which you like best!
