Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker (or jar with lid)
  • Measuring jigger or cups
  • Bar spoon
  • Citrus juicer
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Tall glass or highball glass
  • Ice scoop
  • Knife and cutting board

Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup pear juice or pear nectar
  • 0.25 cup sparkling pear juice or sparkling water
  • 0.5 cup ginger beer non-alcoholic
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 0.125 tsp ground cinnamon optional
  • 0.5 cup crushed ice
  • fresh pear slices for garnish

Instructions

  • Fill a shaker halfway with crushed ice. Add pear juice (or nectar) and fresh lemon juice.
  • Add a pinch of cinnamon if using. Shake gently for about 10 seconds.
  • Strain into a tall glass packed with more crushed ice.
  • Top with ginger beer and sparkling pear juice (or sparkling water).
  • Give it a light stir and garnish with a pear slice.

Notes

For a sweeter drink, use pear nectar and ginger ale. For more spice, double the ginger beer or garnish with a cinnamon stick. Serve super cold for the best fizz and flavor.
