Equipment

  • Large pitcher
  • Wooden spoon
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Sharp knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Ice cube tray
  • Cocktail glasses

Ingredients

  • 4 cups brewed black tea cooled
  • 2 ripe peaches sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh ginger grated
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup vodka optional
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish

The black tea forms the base of this cocktail. Ripe peaches add natural sweetness and fruit flavor.

Instructions

  • Brew the black tea and let it cool completely.
  • In a large pitcher, combine the cooled tea, sliced peaches, and grated ginger.
  • Add honey and stir until dissolved.
  • If using vodka, add it to the mixture and stir well.
  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to let the flavors blend.
  • Before serving, strain the mixture to remove the peach slices and ginger bits.
  • Fill glasses with ice and pour the cocktail over the ice.

Garnish with fresh mint leaves and a peach slice if desired.

    Notes

This recipe can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge for up to 2 days. For a stronger ginger flavor, leave the grated ginger in the mixture longer before straining. To make a non-alcoholic version, simply skip the vodka. The cocktail can be sweetened with sugar or a sugar substitute instead of honey. For a fizzy twist, add a splash of ginger ale or sparkling water before serving.
