Ingredients

  • 2 oz dry gin
  • 2 oz cranberry juice 100% juice or juice cocktail
  • 0.5 oz lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup or honey syrup
  • 2 dashes orange bitters optional
  • Tonic water or club soda, for topping
  • Fresh cranberries or frozen cranberries, for garnish
  • Lime wedge for garnish
  • Sugar for the rim, optional

Instructions

  • Chill your glass in the freezer for a couple of minutes.
  • Run a lime wedge around the rim and dip in sugar if desired.
  • Add gin, cranberry juice, lime juice, and simple syrup to a shaker with ice.
  • Shake hard for about 15 seconds, until the shaker feels cold.
  • Strain into your chilled glass with fresh ice.
  • Top with tonic water or club soda for fizz.
  • Stir gently with a bar spoon.
  • Garnish with cranberries and a lime wedge.

Notes

Use dry gin for a balanced drink. Adjust syrup for sweetness, and swap in cranberry simple syrup for more berry flavor. Garnish with sugared or frozen cranberries for a festive touch. For a lighter drink, use extra soda water.
