  • Citrus juicer
  • Pitcher
  • Glasses
  • Spoon or spatula
  • Ice cube tray

Ingredients

  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • 1 cup fresh grapefruit juice ruby red preferred
  • 0.33 cup silver tequila or blanco tequila
  • 2 tbsp simple syrup or to taste
  • 2 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • pinch salt optional
  • grapefruit or lime wedge for garnish
  • coarse salt or sugar for rimming glass, optional

Instructions

  • Rim glasses with salt or sugar if desired. Run lime wedge around rim and dip.
  • Add ice, grapefruit juice, tequila, lime juice, simple syrup, and pinch of salt to blender.
  • Blend on high until slushy and smooth. Adjust sweetness or tartness as desired.
  • Pour into chilled glasses. Garnish with wedge of grapefruit or lime and serve immediately.

Notes

Use ruby red grapefruit for a sweeter drink; adjust syrup to taste. Double or triple recipe for a crowd. For a non-alcoholic version, skip tequila and add more juice or a splash of soda.
