Equipment

  • Mixing glass or shaker
  • Muddler or wooden spoon
  • Measuring jigger or tablespoon
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Cutting board and knife
  • Tall glass or stemmed flute
  • Small saucepan

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle Freixenet Alcohol-Free Sparkling Wine
  • 0.5 cup fresh orange juice
  • 2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • A few sprigs fresh mint
  • A few basil leaves
  • 1 tablespoon honey or simple syrup optional, for sweetness
  • Ice cubes
  • Orange or lemon slices for garnish

Instructions

  • Add ginger and cinnamon stick to a small saucepan with ½ cup water. Simmer for 5 minutes, then let it cool.
  • In a mixing glass, muddle mint and basil lightly to release their oils.
  • Add orange juice, the cooled spice mixture, and honey or syrup if you want it sweeter. Stir it up.
  • Strain into a serving glass filled with ice.
  • Top slowly with Freixenet Alcohol-Free Sparkling Wine.
  • Garnish with citrus slices and a sprig of mint.

Notes

Muddle herbs gently—pressing too hard can make the drink bitter.
Try basil for a twist, or steep cinnamon longer for deeper spice.
The recipe’s flexible: use your favorite herbs and spices, and skip syrup for a lighter sip.
Serve over plenty of ice in a flute or tall glass for a festive look and lively bubbles.
