Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Jigger or measuring cup
  • Strainer
  • Ice scoop or spoon
  • Rocks or margarita glass
  • Small plate for salt or sugar rim
  • Knife
  • Cutting Board

Ingredients

  • 2 oz tequila silver or blanco
  • 1 oz lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 oz orange liqueur triple sec or Cointreau
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup or agave syrup
  • green food coloring a few drops for color
  • ice cubes
  • coarse salt or sugar for the rim
  • 1 wedge lime for garnish

Instructions

  • Rub a lime wedge around the rim of your glass, then dip it in salt or sugar.
  • Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice.
  • Add tequila, lime juice, orange liqueur, and simple (or agave) syrup.
  • Add a drop or two of green food coloring.
  • Shake hard for about 15 seconds until the shaker feels very cold.
  • Strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice.
  • Garnish with a lime wedge (or a candy eye for extra spooky vibes) and serve.

Notes

Use silver/blanco tequila to keep the color bright. For a crowd, multiply ingredients and build in a pitcher, stirring with ice to chill. Add a splash of soda water for a lighter, bubbly version.
