  • 1 highball glass or mason jar (16 oz)
  • Ice cream scoop
  • Long spoon or straw
  • Measuring spoons
  • Ladle or small measuring cup
  • Whisk (for whipped cream)
  • Paper towel or napkin (for spills)
  • Small plate (for toppings or cherries)

Ingredients

  • 2 –3 scoops vanilla ice cream
  • 3/4 cup lemon-lime soda like Sprite
  • 1/2 cup ginger ale
  • 1/4 cup sparkling water
  • Splash of grenadine or cherry syrup
  • 1 tbsp pomegranate juice for color, optional
  • Whipped cream to top, canned or homemade
  • 1 –2 maraschino cherries plus syrup, optional
  • Optional: cherry-flavored soda or lime sherbet for variation

Instructions

  • Scoop 2–3 generous scoops of vanilla ice cream into your glass.
  • Slowly pour lemon-lime soda over the ice cream to reduce fizzing.
  • Add ginger ale and sparkling water, pouring gently to keep it from bubbling over.
  • Drizzle grenadine or cherry syrup over the top.
  • Add pomegranate juice for color if desired and stir gently.
  • Top with whipped cream and garnish with maraschino cherries.
  • Serve immediately with a spoon and a straw.
