Equipment

  • Tall glass or mason jar
  • Measuring spoons
  • Jigger or small measuring cup
  • Bar spoon or long spoon
  • Citrus juicer
  • Ice cube tray
  • Strainer
  • Small plate

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons elderflower syrup or cordial
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 cup sparkling water cold
  • ice cubes enough to fill glass
  • fresh mint sprigs for garnish
  • lime wedge or slice for garnish
  • fresh raspberries optional, for color and flavor

Instructions

  • Fill a tall glass almost all the way with ice cubes.
  • Pour in elderflower syrup and fresh lime juice over the ice.
  • Top off with cold sparkling water, pouring slowly to preserve bubbles.
  • Stir gently with a long spoon to mix.
  • Taste and adjust—add more syrup for sweetness, or extra lime for tang.
  • Garnish with a mint sprig, lime slice, and a couple raspberries if you like.
  • If using homemade elderflower syrup, strain as you pour.

Notes

Store-bought or homemade elderflower syrup both work. For less sweetness, add extra lime or sparkling water. Fresh mint is a must for aroma. Try raspberries or cucumber for extra flavor and color. Serve very cold for max refreshment.
