  • Jigger
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Bar spoon
  • Small plate
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Muddler
  • Citrus squeezer

Ingredients

  • 2 oz tequila reposado preferred
  • 1 oz fresh grapefruit juice
  • 0.5 oz fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 oz agave syrup or simple syrup
  • 2 slices cucumber
  • 2 mint leaves or basil
  • pinch salt for rim, optional
  • 3 oz grapefruit soda or club soda/sparkling water
  • ice cubes
  • cucumber slice for garnish
  • mint sprig for garnish
  • grapefruit wedge for garnish

Instructions

  • Run lime wedge around glass and dip in salt (optional). Add cucumber slices and mint to shaker; muddle gently.
  • Add tequila, grapefruit juice, lime juice, and agave syrup. Fill shaker with ice and shake well.
  • Strain into glass over ice. Top with grapefruit soda and stir gently. Garnish as desired.

Notes

Try mezcal for a smoky flavor. Use basil instead of mint for a twist. More syrup means a sweeter drink. Fresh juice is best for bright flavor.
