Make simple syrup by mixing equal parts sugar and water in a small pot. Heat until sugar dissolves, then cool completely before using.Fresh ingredients make a big difference. Use newly squeezed lime juice instead of bottled.Store leftover simple syrup in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. For a spicy variation, add 2-3 thin jalapeño slices during the muddling step. This recipe serves one person. Double or triple ingredients to make multiple drinks.
