Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Jigger or measuring tool
  • Citrus juicer
  • Small plate
  • Rocks glass or coupe
  • Bar spoon
  • Strainer
  • Ice

Ingredients

  • 2 oz tequila blanco
  • 1 oz Aperol
  • 1 oz lime juice fresh
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup
  • 1 oz cream or half-and-half
  • ice for shaking and serving
  • kosher salt for rimming the glass
  • lime wheel or orange twist for garnish; optional

Instructions

  • Rim your glass with lime juice, then dip in kosher salt.
  • Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice.
  • Add tequila blanco, Aperol, fresh lime juice, simple syrup, and cream (or half-and-half).
  • Shake hard for about 15 seconds until the shaker is very cold and the drink is slightly frothy.
  • Strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice.
  • Garnish with a lime wheel or orange twist and serve immediately.

Notes

Serve right after shaking to keep the cream fully emulsified. Adjust simple syrup to taste for a drier or sweeter profile. Swap in coconut milk for a lighter, dairy-free take, or skip the cream for a brighter, non-creamy Aperol margarita. Always use fresh lime juice for the cleanest flavor.
Tasting notes: bright lime and orange with a gentle Aperol bitterness, silky texture from the cream, and a clean, citrusy finish.
