Equipment

  • Copper mug or Moscow mule mug
  • Jigger or small measuring cup
  • Bar spoon or long spoon
  • Citrus juicer or reamer
  • Small plate
  • Ice cube tray

Ingredients

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 2 oz unsweetened cranberry juice
  • 0.5 oz fresh lime juice
  • 4 oz ginger beer chilled
  • 1-2 tsp simple syrup optional, for sweetness
  • ice cubes or cranberry ice cubes
  • 3-4 fresh cranberries for garnish
  • 1 rosemary sprig for garnish
  • extra lime wedge for garnish, if desired

Instructions

  • Fill a copper mug or Moscow mule mug halfway with ice cubes (or cranberry ice cubes).
  • Pour in the vodka, cranberry juice, and fresh lime juice.
  • Add 1-2 teaspoons simple syrup if you want it sweeter.
  • Stir gently with a bar spoon until well combined.
  • Top with cold ginger beer and stir once more to mix.
  • Garnish with a rosemary sprig, fresh cranberries, and a lime wedge on the rim.
  • Serve right away for the best flavor and chill.

Notes

Freeze cranberries and use them instead of ice cubes for extra color. Smack the rosemary sprig before garnishing to release aroma. Adjust simple syrup for more or less sweetness. For a non-alcoholic version, skip the vodka and add extra cranberry juice or club soda.
