Ingredients

  • 1 cup cranberry juice no sugar added if possible
  • 1/2 cup orange juice fresh or bottled
  • 1/4 cup blood orange juice optional
  • 1 cup sparkling water or club soda or lemon lime soda
  • 1-2 tablespoons granulated sugar for rimming the glass
  • ice cubes
  • 6-8 fresh cranberries for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon freeze-dried cranberries crushed, optional for rim
  • orange slices for garnish

Instructions

  • Fill a cocktail glass with ice cubes.
  • If desired, rim the glass with sugar or crushed freeze-dried cranberries.
  • In a pitcher or shaker, combine cranberry juice, orange juice, and blood orange juice if using.
  • Stir or shake to combine.
  • Pour the juice mixture over ice, filling the glass about two-thirds full.
  • Top with sparkling water, club soda, or lemon lime soda. Stir gently.
  • Garnish with fresh cranberries and an orange slice. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use unsweetened cranberry juice for a less sweet drink; add lemon lime soda if you prefer it sweeter. Blood orange juice adds extra color and tartness but is optional. Prepare in a pitcher for groups and add sparkling water just before serving for the best fizz.
