Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker or mason jar
  • Jigger
  • Strainer
  • Mixing spoon
  • Rocks glass
  • Ice cubes
  • Small whisk (for cream, optional)

Ingredients

  • 2 oz bourbon
  • 1 oz cold brew concentrate or strong cold brew coffee
  • 0.5 oz maple syrup
  • 2 dashes chocolate bitters optional
  • 1 oz heavy cream optional, lightly whipped for topping
  • ice for shaking and serving

Instructions

  • Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice.
  • Add bourbon, cold brew, maple syrup, and chocolate bitters (if using).
  • Shake for about 10 seconds until the shaker feels cold.
  • Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.
  • Optional: lightly whip the heavy cream and slowly float it over the top. Swirl gently before sipping.

Notes

Use a bold, not overly bitter cold brew to highlight bourbon’s caramel and vanilla notes. Adjust sweetness by changing the maple syrup amount or swapping in simple syrup. For a lighter drink, reduce the bourbon to 1½ oz or add a splash of water. Serving suggestion: chill the glass first to keep it colder longer. Nutrition is estimated including the optional 1 oz cream; omit cream for a leaner profile.
