Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Jigger or measuring cup
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Citrus juicer
  • Bar spoon
  • Small plate (for rim)
  • Margarita or rocks glass
  • Ice cubes

Ingredients

  • 2 oz tequila silver/blanco preferred
  • 1 oz coconut cream or cream of coconut; see notes
  • 1 oz lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 0.5 oz triple sec or orange liqueur
  • 0.25 oz lavender syrup
  • 0.25 oz agave syrup optional, to taste
  • ice cubes for shaking and serving
  • salt or sugar for rimming the glass; optional
  • lime wheel or lavender sprig for garnish

Instructions

  • Rim a chilled margarita or rocks glass with salt or sugar, if desired. Fill the glass with fresh ice.
  • Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice.
  • Add tequila, coconut cream, fresh lime juice, triple sec, lavender syrup, and agave syrup (if using).
  • Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until very cold and slightly frothy.
  • Fine-strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice.
  • Garnish with a lime wheel or a small lavender sprig. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a richer, sweeter texture use cream of coconut; for a lighter, less sweet style use coconut milk and reduce or omit the agave. Swap mezcal for tequila to add smoky depth. A rim of lavender sugar adds delicate floral aroma—use sparingly. Always use fresh lime juice for the brightest flavor and shake hard to fully emulsify the coconut.
Tasting notes: bright lime and orange on the nose; silky coconut mid-palate; gentle lavender finish.
