Equipment

  • Copper mug
  • Jigger
  • Bar spoon or stir stick
  • Citrus juicer or reamer
  • Ice cube tray
  • Cutting Board
  • Knife

Ingredients

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 2 oz cranberry juice unsweetened or lightly sweetened
  • 0.5 oz fresh lime juice fresh-squeezed
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup optional, for extra sweetness
  • 4 oz ginger beer cold and fizzy
  • ice cubes
  • fresh cranberries or frozen cranberries garnish
  • lime wedge garnish
  • fresh mint sprig garnish
  • extra lime slices optional, for garnish

Instructions

  • Fill your copper mug about three-quarters full with ice cubes.
  • Pour in 2 ounces of vodka.
  • Add 2 ounces of cranberry juice.
  • Squeeze in ½ ounce of fresh lime juice.
  • If you like it a bit sweeter, toss in ½ ounce of simple syrup.
  • Top it off with 4 ounces of cold ginger beer.
  • Stir gently with your bar spoon or whatever you've got handy.
  • Finish it off with a few cranberries, a lime slice, and a little mint.

Notes

Taste your cranberry juice—adjust sweetness as needed. Frozen cranberries keep drinks cold without watering them down. Real ginger beer, not ginger ale, gives this cocktail its signature spice. The copper mug keeps it extra cold and festive for the holidays!
