  • Citrus juicer
  • Stirring spoon
  • Glasses or stemmed glass
  • Knife and cutting board

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries (or thawed frozen)
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons)
  • 3-4 tablespoons honey, maple syrup, agave, or simple syrup
  • 3 cups cold water or sparkling water
  • ice cubes
  • fresh mint leaves or basil for garnish
  • lemon wedges for serving
  • strawberries for serving
  • optional: club soda, ginger ale, sparkling lemon soda, or tonic water for fizz

Instructions

  • Wash and hull the strawberries.
  • Puree the strawberries in a blender until smooth, then strain out the seeds.
  • In a pitcher, mix the strawberry puree with freshly squeezed lemon juice.
  • Add your sweetener (honey, maple syrup, agave, or simple syrup) and stir until dissolved.
  • Pour in cold water, sparkling water, or club soda.
  • Add ice cubes to chill the drink.
  • Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness as needed.

Notes

Fresh lemon juice is best, but bottled works in a pinch. Use any sweetener you like. For extra fizz, swap water for club soda, ginger ale, or sparkling lemon soda. Add basil or mint for a herbal twist.
