  • Bar spoon
  • Bottle opener or champagne key

Ingredients

  • 1 sugar cube
  • 2-3 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 4-5 oz chilled champagne Brut or Extra Brut preferred
  • lemon twist optional, for garnish

Instructions

  • Drop the sugar cube into the bottom of a clean champagne flute.
  • Dash 2–3 drops of bitters onto the sugar cube.
  • Slowly pour in chilled champagne until the glass is about three-quarters full.
  • Let the bubbles dissolve the sugar.
  • Add a lemon twist if desired.

Notes

Use a fresh, dry sugar cube for the best texture. For more aroma, add an extra dash of bitters. Chill flutes before serving to keep the drink crisp without ice.
