4-5ozchilled champagneBrut or Extra Brut preferred
lemon twistoptional, for garnish
Instructions
Drop the sugar cube into the bottom of a clean champagne flute.
Dash 2–3 drops of bitters onto the sugar cube.
Slowly pour in chilled champagne until the glass is about three-quarters full.
Let the bubbles dissolve the sugar.
Add a lemon twist if desired.
Notes
Use a fresh, dry sugar cube for the best texture. For more aroma, add an extra dash of bitters. Chill flutes before serving to keep the drink crisp without ice.
