Ingredients

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 0.5 oz cinnamon-vanilla syrup store-bought or homemade
  • 0.5 oz fresh lime juice
  • 4 oz ginger beer not ginger ale
  • ice cubes
  • cinnamon stick garnish
  • vanilla bean garnish
  • lime wedge garnish

Instructions

  • Fill the copper mug with ice cubes.
  • Add the vodka, cinnamon-vanilla syrup, and fresh lime juice.
  • Pour the ginger beer over the top.
  • Use the bar spoon to stir gently.
  • Garnish with a cinnamon stick, split vanilla bean, and lime wedge.

Notes

Make your own cinnamon-vanilla syrup by simmering equal parts sugar and water with a cinnamon stick and half a vanilla bean for ten minutes, then cool and strain. Ginger beer (not ginger ale) gives the drink its signature kick. Adjust syrup and lime juice to taste.
