  • Kettle or saucepan
  • Measuring jigger or tablespoon
  • Spoon

Ingredients

  • 2 oz gin
  • 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp honey or 0.5 oz simple syrup
  • 5 oz hot water
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 2 whole cloves optional
  • 1 pinch ground cinnamon for garnish
  • 1 lemon wheel or twist for garnish

Instructions

  • Fill a mug with hot water to warm it up, then pour the water out.
  • Add gin, lemon juice, and honey (or simple syrup) to the mug.
  • Pour in hot water and stir until the honey is dissolved.
  • Drop in the cinnamon stick and cloves if using.
  • Stir gently. Garnish with a lemon wheel and a pinch of ground cinnamon.
  • Let sit for a minute to infuse spices, then enjoy while warm.

Notes

Best enjoyed warm but not too hot. Adjust honey for sweetness, or use spiced gin for extra flavor. Remove spices after a few minutes if desired. A comforting winter drink with pantry staples.
