Ingredients

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz elderflower liqueur like St-Germain
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz cinnamon simple syrup see notes for how to make
  • 3-4 oz ginger beer
  • ice cubes
  • lime slices or wheels for garnish
  • cinnamon stick for garnish
  • mint sprig optional garnish
  • cinnamon sticks for making syrup or garnish

Instructions

  • Fill a copper or mule mug with ice cubes.
  • In a cocktail shaker, combine vodka, elderflower liqueur, fresh lime juice, and cinnamon simple syrup.
  • Add ice to the shaker and shake for 10-15 seconds.
  • Strain into the chilled mug over fresh ice.
  • Top with ginger beer and stir gently.
  • Garnish with a lime wheel, cinnamon stick, and optional mint sprig. Serve immediately.

Notes

Make cinnamon simple syrup by simmering equal parts sugar and water with cinnamon sticks until fragrant. Use fresh ginger beer for the best flavor. Adjust sweetness by varying the amount of syrup. For a non-alcoholic version, omit vodka and elderflower liqueur, and add extra ginger beer and syrup.
